Frequently Asked Questions

About Jux Jewellery

Where are you located?

We are currently an online-only business based in Lennox Head, in the Northern Rivers NSW, Australia.

Do you have a retail store?

At this stage we do not have a retail store and are online-only, serving clients locally, around Australia and worldwide. If you are local to the Northern Rivers or surrounds we can arrange a meeting in person to discuss a custom order or view a piece from the collection.

Are you a traditional jeweller?

No, we are a custom design-focused jewellery business offering a small range of ready-made and bespoke fine jewellery. Unlike traditional jewellers, we don’t offer repairs or resizing for jewellery that is not crafted by us.

Where are your pieces made?

Our pieces are all designed and made in New South Wales, Australia - between the Northern Rivers and Sydney.

Do you have stockists?

Other than custom-made pieces, we only offer an exclusive range directly through our website.

Custom Orders

How do I start a custom design order and what is the process?

Start by booking a Custom Design Consultation or by filling out a Custom Design Enquiry form. Learn about our custom design process here.

Can I supply my own gemstone or metal?

We may be able to work with your own gemstone or metals and remodel them into a new design. Please see our Re-Design page for more information.

How much does a custom order typically cost?

Your initial custom design consultation is free, with no obligation.

Jux Jewellery custom-made engagement rings generally start from AU$3000, with the average ring costing around AU$5500. Wedding rings generally start from AU$1500. The price for each custom order depends on the metal and gemstone preferences, as well as the complexity of the design. We will provide a quote after our initial consultation and will try our best to accommodate your budget.

What are my payment options?

Once you have chosen a stone, a 50% deposit will be requested to initiate production and secure the stone. The final payment is due upon completion.
Additionally, we are happy to accommodate a payment plan such as dividing the payment into four installments.
Custom orders can be paid using the following payment methods:

  • Direct deposit for Australian clients (details provided on invoice)
  • Visa or Mastercard credit card via PayPal or Square for international clients

Can I make adjustments to the design once the order has commenced?

You will have the opportunity to make up to two adjustments to the design once you have received photos of the design rendering or wax model.

How long will it take to finish?

Once the design is finalised, please allow 6-8 weeks for your custom order to be finished. If you require a piece more urgently, we stock a small range of specially selected, ready to ship engagement rings here which include free express and insured shipping.

Materials

Are your materials ethically sourced?

Ensuring our gemstones and metals are ethically and sustainably sourced is at the forefront of our business. Learn more here.

What are my metal choices?

We offer yellow gold, rose gold or white gold in 14ct or 18ct and platinum.

What gemstones do you offer?

We specialise in Australian sapphires but are also able to source an array of other gemstones such as Australian zircons, emeralds and rubies.

What type of diamonds do you offer?

We work exclusively with a select few accredited local diamond suppliers. We can offer our clients the choice of:

1. Australian Argyle diamonds: Sourced from the Argyle mine in Western Australia.

2. Lab-grown diamonds: Australian owned and operated company, producing laboratory grown diamonds.

3. GIA certified diamonds: To ensure legitimacy, our non-Australian diamonds are certified by GIA, who are the world’s highest regarded diamond grading experts.

What are the 4Cs?

The 4Cs is a universal method for assessing the quality of a diamond, developed by GIA. They include cut, colour, carat, and clarity.

What is the Kimberley Process?

The Kimberley Process is an international certification scheme that regulates trade in rough diamonds. It aims to prevent the flow of conflict diamonds, while helping to protect legitimate trade in rough diamonds. We hereby guarantee that our mine-origin diamonds are conflict free based upon personal knowledge provided by our suppliers.

What are conflict diamonds?

Conflict diamonds, also known as ‘blood diamonds’, are rough diamonds used by rebel movements or their allies to finance armed conflicts aimed at undermining legitimate governments. According to the Kimberley Process, the only current case of rebel forces controlling diamond-producing areas is in Côte d'Ivoire. These conflict diamonds constitute less than 0.1% of the world's production. The KP is working with the United Nations and neighbouring countries to stop these diamonds entering the legal market.

Sizing

How do I find out my ring size or my partner's ring size?

We recommend visiting your local jeweller to get your finger sized by a professional. If you can’t get to a jeweller, you can purchase our ring sizer here.

If the piece is a surprise engagement ring, we recommend asking a friend or having an existing ring measured at your local jeweller.

Do you offer resizing?

Yes, rest assured we offer one complimentary resize for engagement rings within the first year.

For interstate and international clients, we recommend visiting a trusted local jewellery store near you to carry out the resize and we will reimburse you the cost of up to $100. Simply send us a copy of the receipt to receive your reimbursment.

How does the resizing process work?

Our rings come as a size M as standard and we offer complimentary resizing up to two sizes up or down. Please specify size required in the checkout notes and allow 5-10 business days for your ring to be resized prior to shipment.

Otherwise you are welcome to return the ring to us for resizing at a later date, or for efficiency, we can recommend a jeweller in your state to carry out the resize.
