JUX Jewellery embodies artistic integrity and the beautifully imperfect. Each piece is raw and wild, drawing inspiration from the natural world with weathered metals and uncut semi-precious stones. JUX explores an experimental approach to the traditional technique of lost-wax casting, creating pieces with molten like qualities, their forms almost volcanic.
Perle Gorjux, owner and designer of JUX Jewellery, was born in Melbourne Australia. As her parents were both accomplished artists, she was exposed to a creative environment from an early age. She completed a three year Degree in Fashion Design at R.M.I.T in 2012, but found it limiting in terms of how she wished to express herself. Perle consequently discovered the art of jewellery making and found the creative stimulation she was searching for. Essentially a self-taught jeweller, Perle is constantly in pursuit to explore and master the endless techniques of jewellery.
' Techniques for the most part can be learnt. Other aspects of a superior piece of jewellery cannot. Each piece is often not planned. Planning 100% would stunt the process, and it's the process, along with some preliminary sketches, which I find is just as exciting as the end result; it peaks, it deflates, it challenges, it frustrates, it changes, it teases and it provokes. It is my adrenaline rush. I often don't realise a piece is complete until I arrive- technically, aesthetically and emotionally. The process is what makes each JUX piece unique.' Perle Gorjux.
